pushrod pinch.

Would you get any GAIN if you were to move the pushrod pinch wall in and sleeving them with a brass tube on a set of e7's? This would help a straighter shot to the valve, id just have to keep an eye on taper to try and help keep some sort of velocity up.

Whats your thoughts and opinions ? YEH OR NAY ? This is using the stock valve sizes. im thinking it should help gain some flow , but im not sure with the stock valves could handle it. Im thinking perhaps jumping up to 1.9-1.6 valves.

This is on a n20 motor..

Re: pushrod pinch.

Hello sir

yes..I have done this. I drilled mine out first( 5/8). Then ported - you can put a 5/8 wood dowl in there while you flow testing etc until you get done with the port. Dont make a big hole - remeber there are strong pulses in the intake track. Also make sure you deburr and SOFTEN the edges. If the tube pulses - you dont want it to be moving on a sharp edge.

Personally, for a spray application, I doubt you'd see any gains. Figure .100 below your actual lift at the valve, and then flow the head on a bore size closest to what you will use.
Now check the air speed with a pitot tube at the pushrod pinch at the .100 below actual lift and see what you get. Shoot for 300-325fps.
If it's higher than that, then you may see a small gain in performance, probably when your not spraying.
On a nitrous engine, the camshaft and overall flow of both intake and exhaust ports is alot more critical.
