stock flow on Cleveland 2V heads?

What do the cleveland 2Vs flow stock? A buddy of mine is taking myheads to school to use as his project for his performance engine building class. He said he was gonna flow them before and after, but i dont think he flowed them before, i was just curious what they start at.

What numbers does it take to make around 400hp or a little above with those heads and a healty cam?

Thanks

I believe they were 182cfm intake and 114cfm @ .500 lift according to Cast Iron Heads

Both the open chamber 2V and the Aussie closed chamber 2V will be just under 200cfm @ .500" on intake side and 160-165 cfm @ .500" on the exhaust side. A 2V head will support 400 hp with porting. Talk to CKelly on this board and on the 335 Forum as he races 2V headed Clevos in his Falcon and Mustang.

200-225 cfm on the intakes with the correct cam and matching parts will get you a 400hp engine. This assumes everything is optimized and matched.

Re: stock flow on Cleveland 2V heads?

he got back to me, he said he flowed the heads, he said intake gave 212cfm at .600 lift and exh 175cfm at .600. if he does a nice port job i should get very respectable power if im not mistaken. This is going to be a street engine in a 73 mustang backed by a T-5, ignoring the issues with the possible t5 failure, if he does a nice port job am i going to run into driveablity issues? Thanks

Re: stock flow on Cleveland 2V heads?

.600 lift??? Seems very high to get only 212cfm/175cfm. I had mine ported and at .525 lift I was flowing 225cfm/185cfm. How much is he charging you for this port job?? Mine cost me about $900 to get pocket ported, gasket matched, and all stainless steel valves installed.
I ran the 270H cam and was sitting right around 400hp with 225cfm/185cfm and total lift was .532/.532.

those were the flow numbers before porting, hes charging me nothing. he needed a school project and i happened to have something for him. He said his teacher really knows what hes doing so he should get a good port on them.

Realize you don't have to go crazy with a set of 2Vs to get decent street flow numbers. With just a little common sense work you can have a head that will out flow many of the out-of-the-box Windsor after market heads for a lot less money.

Re: stock flow on Cleveland 2V heads?

that was kind of the impression i was getting, he said that he would just do a clean up on them. He would remove the exhaust hump and that kind of stuff. I told him to go ahead with it, just not to junk my heads, lol
