4 banger dual plug heads

anyone know or know where to find the flow numbers on stock dual plug 2.3 heads. After I get done with the body work and the interior i'm pulling the head to port it, also to do a few more mods while I port the heads. Thanks for any info.

Found this over at turboford.net. There are lots of great threads reguarding the DP head flow. The turbo D port head flows better...but 99% of them are cracked (including mine but it still runs fine). Porting should open the intake flow up to about 210 CFM and a good valvejob should get you 10-15 more CFM. The D port turbo head is good for ~250 CFM on the intake side with a max effort port and valve job. Not bad for a little 2.3 head....

Re: 4 banger dual plug heads

I've got some stock and ported #'s...but they are at work. I'll post them tomorrow night. Did a bunch a few years ago for some dirt track teams.

Re: 4 banger dual plug heads

hmm so some ported heads and a well planned out stroked 2.3 should be able to hit 200 hp mark.....haha modifications so far include short throw shifter from mgw, and a piece of pvc pipe with silicon charge air couplers from a isuzu diesel in place of the air muffler, and made a setup to bypass power steering.....coming soon elimination of the exhaust side plugs and coil, completly removing power steering.

Re: 4 banger dual plug heads

Just thought I'd revive this thread. apparently, the DP head is the hot ticket, according to this post:

TurboFord.net Forums: Dual Plug believers come inside....

I know where there are a few of these heads, one is cracked beyond using and might be a candidate for me to learn with.

Re: 4 banger dual plug heads

is this going into a n/a 2.3 motor? then I would stick with the higher compression head vs the D port style head. which has IIRC 8.5/1. The N/A 2.3 non D port is 9/1. Not sure on the Dual plug head though.
