Re: porting D80E head need advice

In Argentina. Just a few SB were imported in 1980 Ranger´s & Bronco´s.

Shipment cost is very expensive to us.

Re: porting D80E head need advice

Try the heads that you have. The worst that can happen is you get a little water in the exhaust. It will make lots of steam if they crack but it won't hurt anything. Then you can find a new set of heads when you need them.
I would be more concerned with those small chambers. Have you calculated the compression? If I put 53 cc heads on my 351 it would raise my compression to over 10.5 : 1. We can't buy gas that would run in my engine - the way it is configured - with 10.5 : 1 compression.

Re: porting D80E head need advice

The D8OE chambers are 69 cc. I´ve got the block rebored at 4.030" and the piston (Speed Pro L2488 F30) are over deck height at 0.003".
With Fel Pro 1011, the quench height is 0,035". Then, compression rate 9:1

The original 1968 heads had 63 cc, rated 9:1 compression, with stoch deck height and stock dished pistons.
