Re: reference pics Floo-tek

If you put an aluminum head on an engine that LOWERS the compression ratio, that is like a double negative. When going to an alu head, you must increase the compression ratio just to stay even with the iron heads. This situation is extreamely important on 289 engines, and almost as important on 302 based engines. I have seen 289 with alu heads, and even with a mildcam, they wont get out of their own way. If they check their cranking compression, it is 115 or 120. NO WONDER IT WONT GET UP AND GO

Re: reference pics Floo-tek

Australian A356 castings machined and assembled in USA

1.94 swirl polished stainless intake valves
1.54 swirl polished stainless exhaust valves
5 angle valve job
Hardened seats
Bronze guides PC seals hardened keepers and retainers
Double valve springs set for up to .550 lift
Hardened 3/8 rocker arm studs and guide plates
Fully assembled

180 cc intake runners
62 cc exhaust runners
58 cc combustion chambers

Flow numbers @ 28" water

Intake
.100 = 61.5 CFM
.200 = 124
.300 = 178
.400 = 209
.500 = 223
.600 = 248

Exhaust
.100 = 56.6
.200 = 98
.300 = 119
.400 = 137
.500 = 161
.600 = 191

these are the specs that I bolted onto my 289. this with a 268H cam woke the hell out of my motor. I did the head upgrade a year after the cam and intake. And for 800 bucks I could not complain AT ALL about the power gains. And with my calculations I was just under 10 to 1 compression and a .025" headgasket.

Re: reference pics Floo-tek

Are those out of the box flow numbers or ported,because if that is what they say they are out of the box its not true .Ive done those heads before out of the box on my bench they flowed 210 Intake and 145 on the exhaust .

These heads can make power,and out do 289 or 302 heads if worked over correctly .the 289 heads can only flow in the 225 cfm range ,these will go in the 255-260 range ,just match the cc's of your prev heads .

Out of the box and it wasnt TSCH who tested them.

These heads look a lot like FMS X305's, are they an offshore copy? I noticed the air injection holes in the exh. ports, are they c.a.r.b. legal? and for $550 were these ebay purchased?

550? I paid 800 for both.I think they are copies of the gt 40 swirl head. Picked them up from moneymakerracing.com

Dont get me wrong they arnt the greatest, but for a mild street car they perform better out of the box then stock heads.

Re: reference pics Floo-tek

dropped my floo tecs off tonight at a local cylinder head shop. they are gonna cut them, CC the chambers, blend the bowls , and do a valve job for 500 bucks (hes giving me a break). Said these are basiclly pro comp heads, they flo like **** out of the box! and will respond well to the bowl work. So we shall see the results when the motor is done. I just hope I can reach my +400 hp goal.
