E5/E7 or GT40's would be better except for chamber sizes. They would give around 9:1 with flat tops.

Where are you located? I have a set of E7's all freshened with new bronze guides, milled, furnace cleaned and shot peened, seats and bowls machined for 1.94/1.60 valves, new valves and all - but they were for helping a neighborhood kid that wanted to hotrod for cheap and he began porting but only got 1 or 2 ports roughed before finding a cute girl. They're taking-up space and dust here. If you're interested and it helps your cause, they're $150 (less than just the valves) and you pick 'em up or pay shipping.

For a few hours with a die grinder, you could have a nice set. If you don't have porting stands (hold and swivel the head on the bench) I can throw a set in for $40 since they're bolted to the heads already... lol. I think I may have a set of stock springs/retainers I'll throw in free (or use yours), but normally you'd use what your new cam requires.

David

PS: Oh, yeah. I have a set of Ford Motorsport roller rockers I bought for the kid too. I can make a sweet deal on those as well.

Re: which heads are better?

as said the only difference is the combustion chambers. ive made 289 heads work really well in the past with alot of porting. you can put ford length 1.94 1.6 valves in for the same price. the extra compression will make more torque and more power
