GT 40 head gasket?

Hello everyone,
I just pulled a set of gt 40's from an 86 explorer for $100 My question is what head gasket # should I buy for this head? Should I just ask for an explorer gasket? E7's gasket that I currently have looks way to small for exhaust port on gt40. Also, on the gt40 heads there seems to be carbon build around exhaust port (seems that original gasket was bigger than exhaust port. Can I port heads to match original head gasket with out running into problems? The reason I'm asking this is because there seems to be quit a pit of room to port. I just don't want to hit a water jacket! Thanks, Canela.
