Help - Diagnosing my low speed/idle problems

About 1400 miles ago I just finsihed installing a new motor into my mass air converted '87 GT.

The problem is that the car doesnt idle worth a damn! When it is cold it sputters at around 500 to 700 rpm. Also when it is cold I go to take off and it sputters and sounds as though it is backfiring. It does this until it gets "warm". At that point the idle doesn't improve but. it doesnt seem to sputter unless I get on it right after taking off from a stop light.

I just built and installed new motor with the following specs:

E7TE block bored +.030
TRW Forged Pistons (Rated at 10.5:1)
Federal Mogul Moly Rings
FMS Double Roller Timing Chain
FMS B-303 Cam
New roller tappets
Hardened pushrods
World Windsor Jr Heads
Proform Stud Mounted Roller Rocker Arms
24 lb Injectors
GT-40 Intake
1" Phenolic Spacer
BBK Unequal Length headers
Autlite Spark Plug Wires
ACCEL Short Header Plugs (gapped at .045)
Off-road h-pipe
Flowmaster Cat Back Mufflers and tailpipes
195 Degree Thermostat
Kiriban Adjustable Pressure Regulator set at 40 PSI with (Vacuum off)
Stock Throttle Body with new TPS set at .950 volts with key on but engine not running
New Idle Air Control Valve
The Stock EGR Spacer (blocked off both for Exhuast gas and water flow)
Crank to Cam Timing set at 0
Ignition timing (with SPROUT Removed) set at ~13

After about 500 miles I was getting between 140 and 150 PSI Compression in each cylinder.

Mass Air converted with Pro-M MAF, 75 mm (calibrated for 24 lb injectors) and A9L EEC Unit

Any ideas or advice how to better tune my motor? It seems to me to be running to rich or "missing" at low speed.

Check manifold vaccum. Sound like you has a leak or your mass air sensor is not calibrated.

Know a good way to check for a vacuum leak?

A Little help/advice?

By the way I'm running tall valve covers (to clear roller rockers) with a breather filter and new PCV plumbed to the bottom of the upper intake.

Is it possible that my breather filter is a "vacuum leak"?

I have the same problem with an E-303 cam and TFS heads. It drives me nuts and I can't find anything.
