The stock PCM will be majorly confused by the different engine. The best thing to do would be to convert to MAF. I did some mods to my 302 and tried a 351 PCM and it didnt work too bad....much better than the stock 302 PCM.

Unless your willing to shell out 900-1000 for a Ford Mass air conversion, I would consider going carbed. Also you didnt say what trans AOD,E4OD or 5spd? The AOD would probably be the better of the bunch to go with. Also remember you will have to get a EFI intake to work on the 351w, and probably bigger injectors and tb. Talking some money now, unless your just stuck on EFI I would do the carbed way and save some headache and money. Just my 2 cents

I think the mass air is around $600-$700 and I would like to go that route, it's a 1990 super clean truck. It does have the AOD and I plan on using it to push snow and pull my 3600 lb. car around. That's why I went the 393 route, 302 to gutless. It's also my daily driver and will sit outside during Iowa winters so I really like the driveability of EFI. I plan of haveing the truck a few years and when you compare it to the price of new trucks I'll have about $9K in it with the motor and EFI
