EFI problem........?

I own a 1986 LTD Crown Vic with a 5.0l
I think it's a multi-port injection and
yesterday it failed to start
The plug fires but the motor don't start
I have noticed that the gas pump is running
continuously when i turn the switch and I'm sure that is not normal because normally it only run for 1 or 2 seconds
I have checked the gas pressure and it's ok
Please help me this is my first Ford injection V8

Thank You

unfortunately, diagnosing isn't my strong point, but my sister had the same problem. Turned out the computer was cooked. I don't think their fuel pump continued to run. Problem is, it could be any one of a hundred problems. The best thing to do is go to wal mart and buy a ford code reader. They have them in the automotive section. Best 25 bucks you ever spent. Basically, you plug it into the wiring harness, and it blinks a series of lights that correspond to codes in the book that comes with it. That should tell you what isn't working. Once you get the codes read, post again and you may get more help. good luck.

THERE IS A FUEL PUMP RELAY THAT CONTROLS THE FUEL PUMP. ON A MUSTANG ITS UNDER THE DRIVERS SEAT. BUT ON YOUR CAR I DON'T KNOW FOR SURE. FIND THE RELAY AND REPLACE IT THERE PRETTY CHEAP, I THINK THIS MAY BE YOUR PROBLEM, IT WAS ON MY MUSTANG.
