Do the heads swap on the 5.4L 3 valve motor to the DOHC 4 valve?
Is the swap worth doing?

In still waiting for the 3 valve heads to arive out here. As far as the sohc to dohc swap goes its easy. they both use the same mounts and tranny setups. exhaust manifolds are differnt as are the intakes. there is alot of little things that will need to be changed but can be simple.

What about the computer/harness? This is a swap I may be interested in performing in the future. I can get the SOHC 4.6 relatively cheap. Upgrading later may be the way to go. I think I would switch to forged pistons before I did a conversion on the engine. How much work would changing the engine itself be? I can think of the heads/cams/intake/and exhaust.

Head swapps can get tricky. but engine swapps can be easy if a dohc was offered in the same model car with a sohc. So to swapp a 99 cobra engine into a 99 gt would make things easer than swappin in a 96 mark8 engine Or goin from a v6 to an 4.6. But parts are out there so anything is posible with the mod engines.
