How much will a supercharger add?
Most claim 40 - 50% over base horsepower at 6 - 8 lbs boost. When you add in better heads, more fuel, headers, exhaust improvements, intercooler, higher boost...it adds up pretty quick.
My personal "rule-of-thumb" is based on atomspheric pressure. Since air pressure is about 14 lb/sq in. ... if you add ~7lbs. boost, that is 50% extra pressure which allows the motor to make 50% more power. IF you kick the boost up to 14 lbs. you double the pressue and get roughly double the power. There are other variables that come into the picture, and you need to make sure the foundation (block, crank, ignition, sealing...etc) will stand up to the boost...but it is usually very accurate.
Like they mentioned, you will be traction limited more than power limited. There is a lot of "giddy up" in a mustang just from suspension improvements.
PS* you may find that as the power goes up, it might be better and more consistant to keep the automatic, either get a beefed up AOD or swap out to a C-4. Less shock on the tires, more consistant runs, a good well matched torque convertor will give you preety much the same or better off the line times as a manual...and you won't have to worry about blowing the clutch.
