Non-SC Saleen

I'm looking for something a little different. I'm in the market for a 99-02 Saleen. Would it make sense to try to save some $$ buying a non-sc and then adding a blower of my own? Maybe Kenne Bell or similar I guess this is more of a purchasing question rather than a tech question. Any comments would be welcome.

Depends on what you want. Hp wise? You want it original? Will you mod it? Personally I'd build a Saleen clone with a TT DSS 4.6 PRO MODular long block(750+hp), P51 intake, 03 Cobra IRS and T56 but that's just me.

I was with you til you said "03 Cobra IRS and T56" < that plus 750hp= BOOM! on the rear end of things..

Why not get a "stock" GT and add the Saleen effects to it.I mean after all,A Saleen (non-S/C) is a "glorified" GT Mustang with a 3.55 gear anyway.

I never said anything about mounting slicks and launching it at redline.

It'd be for street and RR duty. Besides there are a few places that make hardened 33 spline axles for the IRS.

BTW forgot the stoppers. 14" 6 piston Stoptech's or 8 piston Brembos in the front and 13" 4 pistons in the rear.
