brake noise problem on 97 Cobra.

I have a rattling noise that is coming from the brake pads on my 97 Cobra. I have been informed the it is a common problem when aftermarket pads are use, due to improper fitment. I have been informed that motorcraft or ford racing pads have to be used to fix this problem. Does anybody have any knowledge or alternative to spending $110 for motorcraft or $198 for ford racing pads.

Might try using some Performance Friction Brand Carbon Metallics. They are factory equipment on some Fords (according to their website anyhow) and I've always had great luck with them. They may have better fitment over some other non-OEM brands.
