5.0 mass air flow

I just picked up my first 5.0 and dont know much about these engines. The car has a flowmaster cat back sys, 3.73's, k&n filter, and some other small mods done already. I just installed frpp headers on it and my question is, at what point does the mass airflow need to be recalibrated? I plan on drag racing this car often and eventually want to install a small nitrous sys. What other things should be beefed up on these cars before thrashing it at the strip? Its a daily driver and will be driven back and forth from the track. I just dont want to be coming home on the hook. thanks

5.0 mass air flow

The MAF is calibrated to your fuel injectors.. So when you upgrade injectors, you hasta recalibrate your maf too..

5.0 mass air flow

Most often Maf sensors are swapped out to flow more air than the anemic stocker can ever hope to see. A 75mm-77mm is a good size for the average 5.0 based Stang, again they only need to be calibrated for the injector size you are using and only recal'd if you ever go to larger ones later on.

BTW don't bother recal'ing the stock MAF for larger injector's, it's such a puny POS that it's not worth the effort.
