351 rebuild ideas

hey guys,

I am brand new to this forum, but I am big into the ford-trucks.com forum (which really rocks, by the way). I would like to get some ideas for the old 351 in my '93 F-150. It's got 153k, and it still runs well but doesnt have as much guts as it used to.
So I figure in the near future I will get the engine pulled out and have it rebuilt. But, I was considering doing a little bit more. Here is what i want -
1) It's a truck, so I would lots of torque at the low end
2) 300-350 HP
3) perhaps have it stroked or bored (which is better?) to a 383 or something - nothing very extreme.
4) This truck is a daily driver, so the engine needs to be very reliable and easily last to another 150 or 200k miles.
5) I don't plan on driving the heck out of this thing. In fact, I drive very gently, rarely letting the revs over 2500. I'd like enough torque to drive comfortably that way, but enough HP at the top to blow people away every once in a while and for showing off.

What would you all suggest? Keep in mind I am soon to be but a poor college student, and I probably can't put more than 5 or 6k into this whole project.

Build yourself a nice 393 stroker. Uses 302 pistons and your 351w rods, so all ya need is the crank. But your gonna need better heads to help it all breathe, maybe some AFR 185's or something along those lines.

I'm building a similar motor for my 71 mustang, should be a torque monster.

So a 393, eh? What's that...6.4 liters? sounds pretty good
302 pistons and 351 rods, okay. I really don't know much about building engines - what are AFR 185 heads? and will I have to change stuff like the intake and cam? Also, should I use long tube headers for more torque?

A 393 with some Explorer GT40P heads and GT40 intake(ala' Lightning) would be cheaper and more streetable.
