which supercharger to use?
If you are going to stay under 6-8 lb of boost and remember to change the oil in the self contained units, anything will work...powerdyne,even the "classic" Paxton. For higher boost, more reliblity you need to look into the plumbed units that use engine oil for cool, lubrication.
Then you are talking about Vortech or Paxton NOVI and Procharger, in the above order.
Used superchargers are a crap shoot, the safest thing would be to send it back to the company for a freshen-up, but then you lose the savings of buying used. A decent unit (potential for 10-12 lb boost) can be bought for less than $4000, even less on sale. A used one, in good shape, should go for 1/3 to 1/2 of that, unless the guy can prove low mileage or recent factory refresh. Make sue you get the whole kit! Buying or fabricating the brakets, accesories is the hardest part of installing any power-adder.
