EFI Spyder Intake Manifold
If you want more horsepower instead of excuses, consider the EFI SPYDER fuel injection intake manifold. Available for Ford 302 (5.0L), 351W, 351C and 460 big block engines. The EFI SPYDER manifolds accept any size throttle body (up to 90MM) and includes jumbo fuel rails and "Power Elbow" plenum at no extra cost.

I really like the looks of that Cleveland intake. Wish someone would do something like that for the Windsor. I've always hated the off-balance hammerhead design of standard Ford 5.0 injection systems. Even the best EFI intakes on the market look sloppy compared to the balanced & centered look of a carburetor setup.

Isn't the drawback of the EFI Spyder that its primarily a high RPM item? Look again at the photo of the Cleveland intake and the performance numbers (peak at 4500 RPM?). Its got the plenum design for lower RPM HP & Torque.

The prototype Ultraflow is actually designed for high rpm use due to it's short runners(nearly identical in length to the Spyder's) and much larger plenum.

The EFI SPyder can be used for mid-high rpm but no more so than if it had a carb on it.

the spider is a little pricy for what it is also. there are companies who sell the inj. bungs. have a welder weld them in for you and you have your efi intake. i can't imagine why any single plane manafold woudn't work as the spider does.

I bought mine over 3 yrs ago for $549. When you consider the price of the intake($250-$300), machining($50), welding($50), TB elbow($100) and the 1/2" fuel rails($200) it's a steal.

Albeit the current price is $749, it is still a good deal for the quality and fitment.
