98 Explorer(5.0) exhaust

I hve a 98 explorere with the 302 and it has a "tru dual " exhaust until it gets back to the muffler where it has a two into 1 muffler. Iam told there is no room to put in 2 exhaust pipes, there is room for 2 glasspacks but between the axle rear leaf spring, and rear shock ....no room for 2 exhaust pipes to exit the mufflers. I can choose to replace the 2 into 1 muffler with a better flowwing muffler, or go with 2 mufflers that do not exit past the rear axle. It actually has 4 converteres under it (2 on each side) which is good but I am crunched for room on the back end....any advise or comments.

MAC has a cat-back that has two mufflers i think. i will have to check. i am running a dynomax cat back on my 97 302 mountineer. sounds great!!!!!

Just use turndowns. Have them on my mustang. sounds great and adds a little rumble.
