HELP WITH 1993 MUSTANG

1993 EFI MUSTANG WITH A 347ci HAS BEEN WORKING PERFECTLY UNTIL RECENTLY. SOMETHING IS CAUSING THE CAR TO TURN OFF DUE TO THE INJECTORS LOSING CURRENT. WHAT WILL CAUSE THIS I HAVE A STOCK ECU COULD THIS BE THE PROBLEM OR DOES THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL THAT, I HAVE A 190 lph PUMP ? ANY ADVISE WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

HELP WITH 1993 MUSTANG

When it shuts off, can you still hear the pump running? If not, start there. Could be the relay or the pump itself.

HELP WITH 1993 MUSTANG

THAT'S THE WIERD THING ABOUT IT SOMETIMES I HEAR THE PUMP ACTIVATE AND SOMETIMES I DON'T, SO WHAT I DID "I KNOW IT'S PRETTY DANGEREOUS" I OPENED UP THE RELAY WHILE THE CAR WAS ON AND SEEN WHEN IT GOT ACTIVATED THEN 5min LATER IT TURNED OFF BEFORE THE RELAY GOT DEACTIVATED SO THAT PRETTY MUCH ELIMINATES THE IDEA OF IT BEING THE RELAY. I GUESS I'LL GO AHEAD AND BUY ANOTHER FUEL PUMP AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. THANKS.

HELP WITH 1993 MUSTANG

Intermittant operation would certainly call for a replacment providing it's not due to an electrical problem. Good luck!

HELP WITH 1993 MUSTANG

Id look at the plugs at the pump as the culprit. They get full of junk, the plastic falls apart, its just bad all over. YOu'll defeintaly know if you have a problem there, and you gotta pull that apart to do the pump anyway

HELP WITH 1993 MUSTANG

I have actually seen the shroud inside the tank come loose (its just braised [sp?] on ) and cause pumps to go bad. another thing Ive seen is the engine harness under the upper manifold get pinched during an install and cause problems later?? hope this helps Chris
