88 TBird 5.0 to 351

Sometime in the future I am planning on swapping the stock 5.0 out of my 88 TBird, and was wondering if I could use the stock 5.0 EFI on the 351? I know about extending the fuel lines, need a 351 intake, and 351 distributor, as well as the obvious injectors, MAF and others, but I also read somewhere that the 5.0 EFI system had to be from a 89 or newer. Is this correct or can I use the 88 system?
Thanks,
-Matt

The 89+ system would be more compatible is what they are getting at. You can use the earlier system, but the later one will cope with the larger motor better, especially if you modify it any.

You stock Tbird system won't begin to run the 351 correctly. It has miniscule 14lb injectors and is NOT upgradeable due to being speed densety(it doesn't even use the same firing order as the 351)..

You'll need at least some of the EFI components from a '89-'93 Mustang. That will include the computer, MAF(and harness), injectors, and throttlebody/EGR spacer. But with a 351 the Mustang MAF, and injectors are really going to be too small, they should be upgraded to 24lb units. Also you should use at least a 65mm throttle body the stock Mustang unit is 60mm.
