F303 Question

I'm hearing that some guys are using an F303 in 5.0s (mass air) with good results on stock heads, not changing springs, no fly cut pistons etc. I thought you had to change the springs and have deeper valve pockets for that cam. What's the truth?

F303 Question

I just bought a F303 cam for my 306 so I am up to date with the info... the lift on the cam is .512 for stock rocker ratio (1.6)....The springs on the E7TE heads are rated at .500 lift, so you will need new ones...if you are using 1.7 rockers then your lift is going to be: .512 / 1.6 = 0.32
0.32 x 1.7 = .544 Lift

My suggestion is, go to www.buyfordracing.com and get a set of the Turbo Swirl aluminum GT40 Y303 heads for and unbelievable price of $750 / pair (fully assembled)..

F303 Question

or a cheaper fix would be to buy the E303 cam which has a lift rating under .500.....

I would not suggest the E-cam for a 94-95 5.0L...Does not mix well with the newer computers...

F303 Question

Tremendous site I hadn't found yet. I think you confirmed what my research showed... must make other changes for F cam. Price on the heads seems like a deal... bolt on ready to go. My car has T5 and I have a B303 in hand to put on it. One guy I talked to said it would work fine, another said don't waste my time, just go with F303. I'm wanting to stay with a mild street car and not go too wild and keep good manners. Think I'll stick with the B303 and go with an F303 for my next project.
Thanks for the reply.
