Car falls on its face......

I just got my 100 mile break-in period over with on my 94 306...So, today at a red light i decided i was really going to jump on it and run through the gears...I am ashamed to say that i can't even spin the tires from 1st to 2nd....When i shift at 5500 rpm's the car falls to about 3000 rpm's and seems like it falls on its face until it hits about 3800 rpm's and then it takes off....

I have a 306 with TRW forged pistons, stock crank, F303 cam, Y303 aluminum heads, 1.7 roller rockers and a Trick Flow Track Heat upper and lower intake....I also have 30lb FMS injectors for when the N2O kicks in...I currently have the timing set at 12*.....

Could a vacuum problem possibly cause this to happen??? My rpm's die very quickly between shifts....It seems like it just needs to be tuned and tweeked a bit, but i am not sure where to start....Thanks in advance for any info!!!!

I'd knock out all of the simplest things first....
Check the base timing(should be roughly 14-18BTDC; those heads will like that) & make certain the timing advances properly with rpm. Check manifold vacuum; should be roughly 9-10"; any less & it's time to look for a vacuum leak. Pull codes if any. Check the TPS for .97-1.00V & move the throttle through the range to WOT(should have 4.6-4.7V). That'll get 'cha started....

I turned out that it was a bad TPS connection....I have my nitrous wired to my TPS and the connection was loose...My TPS is reading 1.23 V and 4.69 at WOT...All is good to go, she is purring like a kitten and is hungry for some rice...
