head problems

I am building a 327 stroker motor, I just installed my GT 40X heads, and checked valve clerance, I have .417, I am running .544 lift cam, I bought these heads new bare off ebay, I had a machine shop install my valves springs etc. and mill .02 off, is there any way too figure out what is wrong? The pistons have .015 deck clerance. any help!

According to the fundamental section here: If you determine that you have at least .080" on the intake and .100" on the exhaust side then you have sufficient clearance to run that cam. You have .417?
