swap of efi bronco upper manifold to mustang upper manifold ?

hi guys

I am french and owner of a 88 bronco 302 efi. my bronco is a rust bucket but is mechanically very good; my question is : I also have a 70 mustang and would like to swap the bronco engine in my mustang. I also would like to change the upper truck manifold to a mustang type upper manifold.

does some one know if it is a bolt on swap or do I also have to swap the lower manifold ?

I have searched in previous topic but can not find any answer ?

any help ?

thanks a lot

You'll have to swap it as the 302 trucks use a trapezoidal shaped port, whereas the passenger car type is round...

FYI.. the 351 trucks use a shallow oval port lower that doesn't swap with the Mustang type upper either.

If you take a look at the aftermarket...you may notice that the Truck EFI base was the inspiration for several high performance 302 manifolds. Specifically the Holley System Max and Saleen manifolds and deriviatives. It actually offers more flow the many of the accepted front runners. So if you are looking for maximum air flow, you may want to keep the truck manifold for later.

But to answer your question...you can swap the passenger efi intake for the truck intake, it's a bolt-on. Just be sure to swap everything. As far a computer, wiring, sensor inputs, conversion to Mass air...etc. These might be issue you want to address - before going too far into the project.

I really hate to see people get into a project that it technically outside their skill set...not that yours is a case like that. I mention it as a general warning that just because something can be done, it doesn't necssarily follow that it is easily done.

thanks for your answers
I think I better keep my 351w in the mustang, order a typhoon EFi intake and a mass air cconversion kit from ford racing and an aftermarket efi harness. this is the easiest way.
