EFI Distributor Type - Magnetic Pickup vs. Hall Effect

This is regarding a 302 in a 93 F150 that's been rebuilt to a 347.

1st Question:
When moving from standard firing order ( 15426378 ) to HO firing order ( 13726548 ) do you need to change the distributor? The standard FO rotates the distributor clockwise while HO rotates the distributor counterclockwise.

2nd Question:
The original distributor has a Hall-effect trigger, however most of the 302 HO distributors I am finding are magnetic pickup. The difference in price is astounding (almost $150 more for Hall-effect). My vehicle has a remote mounted TFI module, so as long as the distributor is made for this application, why would it matter what triggering type I buy?

Thanks,
-J

You have to have a hall effect distributor with EFI.

Really?? Then why does Mallory make EFI distributors specifically designed for TFI ignitions with magetic pickup? You can even get them with TFI module on distributor or remote. Their part number is 7870406 and they are a direct factory replacement (check out page 16 of 54 of Mallory's distributor catalog). Not to mention that Summit's distributors are all wrong. Please prove that statement.

Anyone else?

Oh geeeeeez, just get whatever you want, it's not a national crisis. Ford distributors come with a hall effect, I didn't know that a magnetic trigger would fire it, oh well I was wrong...it happens.
MSD unit uses a duraspark 2 pickup.

Also, all 302s (and all Fords I can think of) use Counter Clockwise rotor rotation. The camshaft determines firing order.
