Did the 4cyl to V8 swap, But it wont start with the key

87 Notch with 89 engine and wire harness. It does run with a momentary switch temporarily installed on the solenoid for starting.

I recall reading about a jumper under the dash that needs to be pluged or something? I just cannot find the topic! The clutch saftey switch (best way to describe it, Im tired from 3 days of serious wrenching) is not plugged in. The car was an automatic car before the T-5 went in. I do not yet have the wire harness for the reverse lights that plugs into the T-5.

Do I need to splice anything under the car where the plugs for the nuetral saftey was on the auto trans?

If you switched the whole harness you need to hook up the clutch safety switch or jump across it. Originally the power went to neutral safety switch on transmission.

Like gbic1 said, if its an Ford harness you have to connect the NSS or jump the terminal.

I got it all squared away. I kicked back outside in the breeze with the trusty Chilton's and I've got her all set. Reverse lights and starter both work.

I ended up jumping it for now. I will do some more investigating and try and get the harness for the clutch switch.
