a performance 3.0 ?

Hey people ,is it possible to get any kind of performance out of a 97 3.0.I have a stock 1997 Taurus gl. or as the chubby guys call it tarash.Is there any way of upgrading that 3.0 to get more hp with out breaking the bank .If those old 4cyl chubbies can get in the 200 mph club ,then an old 6 cyl FORD ought to be able to get in the 90 mph club

I have been researching the Eaton M90 for a possible project of mine. And while I was researching it lead me to Ebay and I seen a Ford Probe there with the 3.0 and it had a M90 s/c on it! Is it possible for the 3.8 intake to fit on your Taurus' engine?

People put these things on V6 mustangs, rangers, explorers. And one Ford Probe that I am aware of. But I am not fully up to par with the 3.0 and 3.8.

[SIZE=3]The whipple will not fit under the hood of a Taurus and they don't offer it for sale any more. I have a few ported intake manifolds with new flanges/inlets that use 60-70mm+ Mustang style throttle bodies. A full upper lower combo with everything you can do to it. Ported, polished, 3/4" removed from runners, 3/8" phenolic spacer, and a 60mm tb. There are tuning options from SCTuner.net and Nitrous kits from all the regulars. Just be sure to hire a good tuner for both, the nitrous kits are a close tune at best in left field at worst. SPEND THE MONEY and go wet. I was running 50#/hr injectors back when they said it wasn't possible, and a 125hp shot of nitrous back when 200hp was the max you could make on your motor; 201 would destroy your 3.0. This was also about the time, I was making 225 at the wheels. I was building cylinder heads and specking out cams almost 10 years ago. My Taurus was running 12's back then. So yeah, I have been around the block. The community is jaded and full of CAI's and exhaust mods with very few serious performance enthusiasts. You should always do a SHO swap man and go from there 3.8 stuff as far as i know does not interchange with 3.0 different engines ones alot bigger then the other anyways you could always go the standard headers/port work/bore/stroke and stuff like that
