Idle problem.. A WORD TO THE WISE!!
As most of you know , I have been batteling a MAJOR idle problem for about two months. You need to read the thread "Idle problem again, no way". Even if you don`t have an idle problem it is the end result that herein lies the lesson. Seriously , read it!! That post has 1,161 reads with about 96 hits so it is very long but long story short I have spent about $900 on "stuff" trying to solve this issue. Even a trip to Ford only masked the problem for a day or two. In the end you will see that the problem was the fact that fuel pressure was set WAY to low for my set up. Hold on .. lesson coming!!! You ready?? We have these wonderful little gray boxes(most that is) in our cars called computers. Computers not only tell you about "check " lights but they tell you every thing you possably want to know about how the engine is running and , get this, it records it so you can see any potential problems even with out a "check" light. A simple koeo/ koer testing (don`t cost a dime) eventually found the problem. I did not know how to do the tests or interpret the results but through a VERY smart person(you know who you are) with a lot of patience guided me through it for a whopping two weeks. Moral of the story... If you have a problem with the way your car is running then give it a basic tune up first then TEST,TEST, TEST and if needed Test again. IT`S FREE!! The infomation is in books and ALL OVER the internet and most of it is free. USE IT FIRST!!!
Then after your 100% sure of problem , then spend if needed. In my case I wasted a lot of money.
P.S. Thanks again to all that helped but a BIG thanks to Joel50!!!
