I've been doing a bit on her, no new pics yet. I got the door and fender stainless polished and painted the inner part a matte silver as stock. Looks great I must say, even my dad's pretty impressed. We're working on door and quarter window guts now. The rear is complete minus the bumper adjustment, still in progress. That's what happens when you buy an accident car with a bodyman that doesn't know how to fix quarters right. Even the heater box is about ready to go in. Pics next time, as for now getting pumped for the Detroit Autorama this weekend.

One warning. The freakin windows are a bugger to get adjusted properly to fit and not leak air. I still have one leak/noise from the drivers window...after 2 years of ****in with it. Even bought the assembly manual. Hardtop window adjustments are a bugger. Post some progress pics when you get time.

Ya, no foolin', thanks for the 411 on them, I figured by how they looked before I took it apart. The door windows edge kept hitting the top edge of the quarter glass. Nothing surprises me anymore with this car, guess it teaches you alot too so can't be that bad. I'll keep posted with pics next time too.

Remember this, when installing the side glass. Vent windows first. Fit them and then the door windows. The rear windows are the last to adjust. I even tried paying a body shop to adjust them and they screwed them up worse then I had and ended up redoing them myself.

One last thing. I tried to mark all the bolts and nuts prior to glass removal so I could put everything back in it's original place. I forgot that the door were readjusted so it screwed everything and it didn't work. MAKE SURE TO INSTALL THE WING WINDOW AND THE THEN THE WEATHER STRIPPING THAT GOES AROUND THE WING WINDOW AND DOOR BEFORE CONTINUEING ON IN INSTALLATION. The weatherstripping will make the door fit differently. Actually pulled the pin stripe between my two colors off by an eighth of an inch. Good luck.

I was going to go Lokar (really nice) but we rigged it with a hiem joint? my dad calls it. Basically a straight rod that I believe has standard thread and reversed thread for adjusting. I would think it something like on my 00 f-150 for the tie rods. It just clears a nub on my intake, but works nice. The accelerator pedal assembly, the rod on the outside had to be torch heated and bent toward the engine. With a 289, there should be no issues with this setup, but a Lokar will be a sweet setup if you decide that way.
