Re: My Comet Project

Actually, the cable that I use came off a late 90's Honda Accord, and I fabricated a bracket that I welded onto the stock clutch pedal. I will be working on the Comet this eveing, so I will take some pictures of the clutch pedal, so you can see what I did.

Re: My Comet Project

cool, because i was thinking of welding the quadrant to the pedal the same way. i was guessing that it would work just like the late 90's pedal.
its more fun when fabricating parts instead of spending alot of money for them!!!

Re: My Comet Project

This was the best shot of the clutch pedal that I could get.., also posted a hand drawing of the part that I fabricated.

Re: My Comet Project

Little more progress to show. I got the dash re-assembled, fabricated a cover for the engine that reads "Comet 347", got the quarter completly welded in.

Re: My Comet Project

LOOKIN GOOD!!!!
I'm using a 92 5.0 main ecu harness and injector harness for my EFI conversion. haven't got around to the electrical yet, but was it difficult to get the juice to the brain to get the car running?
just curious to see how big of a task it is.

Re: My Comet Project

No, that actually was the easy part, after figuring out the wiring diagram for the brown and green connector, it fired right up.

Re: My Comet Project

I thought that I would drop the Comet off at the Paint & Body shop, but he is backed-up for a couple of weeks. Well it gave me the opportunity to finish up the quarter panel, repair some cracks in the steering wheel, and move the rear end back 1".., also, changed distrubutor cap and wires to red MSD 8.5 mm. Now I have to find or have built, a 59 1/2" drive shaft. Here are some pics of the finished quarter, steering wheel and engine.

Re: My Comet Project

Finally got the dash cluster completed with gauges. The gauges fit in the cluster with modifications to the sheet metal enclosure on the back of the cluster. No modifications at all the the front of the cluster. As you can see from the pic, all the gauges are working beautifully.
