Thanks. The trick there is to use a 65 Mustang tank. The filler tube is centered and points up instead of at an angle like the Falcon tank. You'll need to add a vent. I TIG welded a -6AN weld on steel fitting to the location of the Falcon vent and plumbed it to the original hard line with -6 stainless tubing.
I also added a -6AN weld on fitting to the tank near the sending unit for a future EFI upgrade. It's capped off for now. Have a professional welder TIG this if you are not an expert welder. You don't want any leaks in this area and the tank material is really thin and easy to burn through. You also need to use a non-vented fuel cap. I also have a sheet of aluminum behind the rear seal to seal the trunk from the interior.
Disclaimer - Don't weld on a used tank unless you know what you're doing! Gas fumes + heat = boom. The mods I made were to a brand new tank that never had fuel inside.
