Re: '27 Track T Paint and Assembly

I don't see a problem with it in this car because of the weight. I pulled this box from a salvage yard 3500 pound car, and it didn't crack in all it's years on the street, so surely not in it's new life. The pitman arm doesn't extend any further out in this application than it did in it's stock form, now if this was a true center steer car, a pillow block would be needed.

Re: '27 Track T Paint and Assembly

Been at it pretty much every day for 3 weeks, here is some of the progress:
The dash is a simple aluminum plate with only the basics.
(Click Thumbnail #1)

I used a Ford 40 amp generator because it looked more appropriate.
(Click Thumbnail #2)
The headlights are Guides off a White firetruck.
(Click Thumbnail #3)
The headers are Schoenfelds that are made for an IMCA modified, but work quite well here. The valve covers are from an '85 Mustang, but they look as traditional as the Corvette covers the Chevy guys use.
(Click Thumbnail #4)

The coolant recovery tank is a 12" long piece of 2" copper tubing with a couple of core plugs silver soldered on.
(Click Thumbnail #5)

The fuel pump is from a '64 Fairlane with a 260 V-8. It has the integral fuel filter that really simplifies the fuel system.
(Click Thumbnail #6)

The distributor is an N.O.S. Mallory dual point bought off the 'Bay for $20.00. The intake is an old Edelbrock F4B, and the carb is an Autolite 2100. Yes the fuel line is copper, and it will be just fine.

Re: '27 Track T Paint and Assembly

Man...excellent choices on the nostalgia parts- you got a lot of neat stuff on there and it all 'works' great. the old distributor and generator are a very unusual thing in these transistorized days- but a very cool touch...that cars gonna draw a crowd wherever you take it, and I bet a lot of rodders from the '60s will be drooling all over it
