Red face Re: 64 Fairlane - Midnight Angel 2

I been working on getting my house refinanced. Had to finish the remodel on the kitchen; installed the floor, did some dry wall repair, painted, etc.
So, I havent had much time for MDN2.. I do plan on getting back to the body work soon and modifing the dash so I can mold it and make one in fiberglass. I have bought the fuel pumps and braided lines and fittings. Once I get the dash in I could start on running the wiring.

Cool Re: 64 Fairlane - Midnight Angel 2

OK, kitchen is finished, refi has been penned, Christmas shopping finished, and the tree in the back yard is gone!!
Now its time to order/purchase the small parts (brake lines, gauges, fuel pumps and regulators and lines, hoses, Lexan, etc.) and make whatever brackets I'll need to mount the small stuff.
Also on the to-do list; make fiberglass dash, modify front bumper, tin work, build the headers and finish the body work. Im only going to prime the body at first. I'll paint her after Iv made some shake some passes just in case I have to change anything.

Thanks for all the interest in Midnight Angel 2
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
Charlie

Re: 64 Fairlane - Midnight Angel 2

Charlie,
Just got up to date reading the build some more...the fuel cell strap is freakin awesome!! I loved the skull you did, but the new addition I think really fits the styling you got going there. And the battery boxes are pretty tight as well. Keep up the fantastic work, I am really looking forward to seeing this creation come to life!

Re: 64 Fairlane - Midnight Angel 2

Well, after looking through the build log of MDN2 on my web site, I took a long hard look at the brake and gas pedal mounts and decided I can do better. I guess I was getting a little ahead of myself when I made the brackets that I installed, I just used what I had at the time. So, Iv programmed some new ones and cut them today. I will be working on removing the old brackets and installing the new ones this weekend. I will post pic's after the New Year!
I also want to thank everyone for your continued interest in this build!!

Happy New Year!!!!!
Charlie

Re: 64 Fairlane - Midnight Angel 2

Iv finished repairing the drivers side rear quarter panel. Had to cut some rust out and make a new patch panel.
I will be redoing the brake and gas pedal this week. Then later this month, now that the rear quarter is done, I can start the tin work. I plan to start in the rear and work my way forward, obviously.

Charlie

PS. I'll be posting pic's later...

Re: 64 Fairlane - Midnight Angel 2

Iv spent the last couple days removing the brake and gas pedals to replace the mounting brackets. I wasnt happy with the way I made to old ones.
I reinstalled the brake pedal with the new brackets today. Gas pedal will be tomorrow.
The pictures of the rear quarter repair have been post in my build log on my site.

Re: 64 Fairlane - Midnight Angel 2

Humm, I guess the link in my last post doesnt work the way I wrote it... Anybody have any ideas what I did wrong?
As for MDN 2.0, Iv takin the drivers seat to my parents in Redding CA where my mom and sister will make the covers. While I was there I bought some foam fro the place my mom buys here materials. We used the electric knife to cut the foam to fit the seat. These suckers are going to be very comfortable!!!

Stay Tuned More to Come!!!

Re: 64 Fairlane - Midnight Angel 2

Hey Guys
Iv been working on building the new grill/fender support. I had a temporary support in place to trial fit the fenders and hood. I plan to mount a small fuel cell in front of the rad. just behind the grill so I had to build something to allow me more space for the cell.
Heres a quick pic of the new support. I still have a few mounts to install. I'll post all the pic's on my site when Im finished (which should be in a day or two).
Thanks for your interest in my project!

Talking Re: 64 Fairlane - Midnight Angel 2

Hi Guys...
I'll be posting some pic's tomorrow of mounting the nitrous fuel cell. I spent last weekend at my parents house working with my mom on making the covers for the seats. I also have most of the rear tin programed to be cut on the waterjet.
cheers
Charlie
