'69 Fairlane Cobra

Here is my '69 Torino Cobra in the body shop. I've been working on this for several years now, partly because I keep adding to the work (like converting to a manual trans).

Here's the current build:
Color will be Lime Gold Metallic, but from the new Mustang
416 FE engine (390+.030 bore w/428 crank, maybe one day I'll bust the bucks for a 428 block)
Ross flattop pistons CR ~10.3:1
Edelbrock heads w/Ferrea valves
Erson rockers
Crane Hyd. roller cam (the smaller of the 2, ~224 @.050 intake)
Edelbrock Performer RPM intake
Holley Street Avenger 770
Tremec TKO600 trans
Converted to power disc brakes, thanks to parts from a '70 Montego
I'll probably get some American Racing Torq Thrusts, maybe 17"

I'm seriously considering some fuel injection, using the MegaSquirt system since Edelbrock now has a Victor EFI intake for FE's. I'll get the car back together and drive it a bit before doing this though.

Thumbs up Re: '69 Fairlane Cobra

Can you tell us more about your project? Mine was at that stage once too, and I know there's more to tell! hehe. Give us the low down. Also, what motor and transmission you got in there?

OK, car is back from the body shop with the Lime Gold metallic from the '06 Mustang (similar to the 60's hue but seemed to have more "life"). BTW car was originally Meadowlark Yellow.

Re: '69 Fairlane Cobra

I love those car . It is fun to bring one back to life . I know where a 68 r code car is I want but too many projects going on . It is not going anywhere , maybe one day I can jump that car . Only problem with those cars was seeing how to back up through the back glass but hey , always go forward .
