Thumbs up Re: TurboT-Bird

Good to see a non-Mustang Fox-body being given some love.. especially one that many would've scrapped. Makes me feel really bad that I'm scrapping an '88 Mark VII with a cleaner body than that.. but I've got way too many projects already, and it has way too many little things wrong with it. At least the engine will be going into the '88 T-bird LX I'm giving to a friend.. and he's even going to try to put the front clip from the Mark onto the T-bird for something different. I'll also use it to build up a reserve of spare parts for my '89 Mark, and I may see if I can use some of those parts to go 5-lug on my Fairmont.. so it's not like it's going to waste.

At any rate, good luck with the TC. The only thing I'm not really sure about is that change in the lines of the stripes at the front.. but I'm sure if I wait 5 minutes I'll like it again. Every time I look at the pics I have a different opinion of it.. which is probably a good thing.

Boy, your not scared of a little work!
Did you know that body style has the
fastest timed lap in Nascar. Talledaga,
about 214mph withBill Elliott (?) at the wheel.
I'm putting together a 29 Model A 2Dr and
thinking of putting a Turbo 4 like yours in it.
Which would be the best yr of Bird to look for?
Fred

87-88 was efi intercooled and had 190hp put on a t3 turbo and different intercooler and it will wake it up more and be very fun in a model A.

Re: TurboT-Bird

Dropped the Fuel tank and rear out of the car today, few things I dont understand on it, the fuel pump was a walbro, it had these numbers on it:
e9sf-9350-ba
aof060
14491-2
dont think thats stock, can someone identify it?
also the rear in 88's are 8.8 and came with disks and 3.55's this one has drums and 3.45's tag reads:
v497b
3l45 75 5c25
Whats this rear out of?

It was Bill Elliot, but he set the record in an '86 model. With an intercooler, I think the '87-'88 had the same engine as the 205-horse '86 Mustang SVO. JD

Re: TurboT-Bird

the SHO has a smaller intercooler, a bigger t3 turbo (t-bird has an IHI Turbo) and a slower cpu.
