Re: 1965 ford mustang street/strip car

I have not updated for a little while. Im still having an issue with coolant pushing out, i had planned to do a shortblock but it turned out my front suspension needed attention. I will be doing another tech article soon about a front suspension for under 700 bucks. I ended up doing full roller uppers, lowers, and perches. With a bump steer kit, and shelby drop. Heres the start of the teardown. This was probably the fastest part as welding and fabbing up everything was time consuming

fab pictures, the lowers wernt finished at the time I took these

Re: 1965 Mustang street/strip car

Been a while for an update.

Machine work for my 293 is finished. Will be picking it up next week. Im building a 289/AOD combo, and Im looking for 400hp from it.

289 bored .030
Speed pro forged pistons
H beam rods
stock crank polished
comp 282S, roller rockers
aluminum heads
stealth intake
holley 570 cfm street avenger carb
IIRC its a 2600-2800 stall converter with a stock AOD
3.20 traction loc 8" rear.
Some new pictures:

I changed the wheels. Sold the welds and bought something different as I changed the reasoning behind the entire build.
