Cool '68 Galaxie XL GT fastback

Well most of the exterior is done for now. Rebuilt 390 motor ( oe 10.5:1 pistons and after market cam) modified intake with 750 holley. Rebuilt c-6 trans and stock 9" rear ( with lincoln rear disc assy. and yes it now has 4 wheel disc as fronts were oem. Front and rear sway bars are now in place along with the oem 3-link rear suspension. Front chin spoiler from a chevy donor...lol
After market X-pipe with 2 1/2 exhaust and flow masters. Driveline is still to be installed as of this writing. No interior yet euther ( but have been getting materials for true leather inteior.Still using the stock shifter and dash.

Man.... What size are those rims? 15in?You need to scrap those low-pro tires and go for some real tires to fill in those wheel wells. Those tires belong on a Civic, not a nice piece of American iron like that. You can find some nice size rubber to fit on those rims that will help fill it out.

Other than that though, that car looks very well done. Good luck with the interior and driveline....

If he likes the tires he has, they're great, and only his opinion matters. If you like 15" rims and fat tires, then put them on your own car.

I think it looks bad ass!

Talking Re: '68 Galaxie XL GT fastback

Thanks for the comments all this is a true love for me. Sorry but the rims and tires stay , they are 17" with toyo lo pro's z rated. I wanted 20's but they just wouldnt fit the stock wheel wells and I refused to chop or cut up the original lines of the car...I have had "special" coil springs with coil-overs installed to get her farther down in the weeds as it were. When I had the mock up driveline in for the exhaust work ( sorry but i couldnt get her to lean for **** !) It's like its on rails REALLY ! When I had the stock 15's it rolled around like she was at sea...I HATED IT !!! skidmark Roy

I love the rims, my self. They do look a little different though. I think it's the really lo-pro tires that are throwing me off. Every one has opinions and desires for there cars though and you sound content/happy with what you've done so leave em on and shred 'em.

Shred them is what I'll do soon enough. Then I'll replace them with something not so xtra lo profile ...but standard tires roll too much for me. Really dont like the boat at sea feeling...Skidmark
