Re: 1971 Mustang Mach 1

Damn JD! Looks like that's happening more and more often lately!

Tell that asshat that told you that the fella was good to go bite a pile of crap! Also let him see the "Quality" of the stuff he is telling people is "Good".

Wow, does this scene ever sound familiar. It's a shame that some people have to get scammed out of their money because they are trusting souls, and end up with crappy work for it in the end.

Re: 1971 Mustang Mach 1

If you didn't live in Hawaii I'd say that I know what "shop" you had the work done at.
A few years back I had some welding and machine work done by some guys that had their shops in their garage. They did excellent work for me. While I was checking them out, they showed me other work that they had done in their shops. But who's to say it was their work and not someone else's they were taking credit for? The welder actually didn't mind me standing there and watching him while he welded aluminum plating and a cast iron clutch drum for me. The machinist did the machining on the C-4 clutch drum for me.
Here's one for you sports fans, if a restaurant critic eats at a restaurant and the service and food are like dogs$%t and the critic writes about it to the public, who is to blame for the dogs$%t? The dog that produced it or the critic that wrote about it?
Does matter, dogs$%t is still dogs$%t not matter who tells about it.
Sorry you got a raw deal, I completely understand yor pain.

Re: 1971 Mustang Mach 1

Thanks for all the support and words of wisdom! When days with the project go bad, I can always count on you guys to chear me up. Progress has been moving along at an awesome pace, however, I've decided to bodywork and paint the car myself, so may take months or even years to complete due to trial and error. Never did do bodywork before, but if I can weld patch panels, then I'm pretty sure I can do autobody and paint with the help of FordMuscle and youtube :0) Good news is I've got the new wheels wrapped with Firestone Indy 500s yesterday and they look great! I thought I'd have rubbing issues with the rear swaybar, but tried it on and I cleared it by a good 1". The only thing I need to do is roll the fender lips. I'll post pics when I can find the time to resize about 50 update pics :0)

Thanks again,
DJ
