Here is the official build thread for my 65 Galaxie 4 Door LTD.I orginally was going to buy this car as a donor for my 66 but it was in way too good of shape to hack up so a second project was started, actuall the 66 got push way on the back burner as this was in much better shape.I got it from my neighbors dad who got the car in an estate sale and it was on the property, He dragged it home got it started drove it around the farm,it made a knocking noise so he parked it in his shop till one day when he got tired of it being in his way and pulled it out into the field to rot and my neighbor said it was too nice for that and came and got me.A quick $400 was exchanged and me and my father in law went out and dragged it home.
I was stoked at my new purchase and said it would be easy, fix the knock, get it running and I'd be on my way.Well as we all know it's never that easy.I quick inspection of the frame brought my to a quick realization the it would need to be seperated and fixed.Well 3 years later I'm head over hells into the project replacing everyting.
Sat this way for a couple years, work, school and life generally got in the way, but I did get a chance to get this built in the mean time in order to help with the build of this.
Unfortunately I got a little lazy on taking pics, but the whole frame got cleaned up, a coat of POR15 and started installing parts again.
Upper A-Arms with poly bushings installed.
Lower control arms with poly bushings and stiffened up with some bracing.
Disc Brake upgrade and poly end links on the sway bar.
New upper and lower ball joints
Poly strut rod bushings
and everything got a nice coat of paint that is dirty and greasy now LOL.
Well caper...I am envious of your build. I wish I had the room and knowhow as you do!!! Too bad I don't live nearby. I wouldn't mind comin over to check it out. Looks like fun. Can't wait to see the progress.
It's been awhile since I have done any work to the car, lack of cash flow and full time school and 2 PT jobs keep me busy.Any way I got the rear control arms all boxed in and painted and got the rear springs all cleaned up and painted.
Also have the 9" tore down and ready for rebuild, now just got to save up some cash for poly bushings for the rear now. Will probably do a little work on the body over Chritmas break.
Like the nice work! I need me a blasting box too! and a BIG shop
Maybe on Christmas...

A low sun pointed Long shadows toward the east; the tired day was preparing to lay aside its burdens. Far away a lion roared.
well I did manage to get the one and only hole in the floor done,I know it doesn't look the best, my first time using the bead roller, as you can see I got better as I went, I'm not too worried as it will be covered with Dynamat on the top and bedliner on the bottom.
the new panel
installed
I left a 1/2" on the cut out old floor panel and then flanged the new one for an overlap, once I flip the car over I'll run another bead around that edge.
Well I made this thing that they call the Incredible Tip Over Jig, now I am sure some of you may have a problem with this, but it is quite sturdy and strong, I don't have a grand to blow on a auto-twerller and I definately wouldn't put my life in any danger.
I am able to tip this beast over by myself.
Started by cleaning off all the old rust and undercoat, it was actually amazingly clean.
Found a couple of spots, right around where the seat braces are so I cut them out and re-welded new metal in.
then I took some more time and stripped the bottom and added on coat of Epoxy primer to the bare metal areas. I ran out of stripping discs but picked up a couple more this week so I'll do more this week and finish priming the bottom and do another coat. After that it will get completely done with truck bed liner.
