C4 kickdown problem.

I am converting my dad's 71 maverick from a column shifter to a floor shifter after installing a set of headers. this required turning the shift linkage at the trans 180 degrees. The trans goes to all detents but the problem I'm having now is that the kickdown rod does not move thus jamming the accelerator linkage. What's the deal?

C4 kickdown problem.

requires a different rod due to change in shifter lever. Look for one out of a Mustang with simialiar engine, trans and year. They are all floor shifted.
