Hi! I need litle help

Iam from Finland so my English is not quite correct, sorry!
I have Maverick from 1973 and I have bought a new engine from Ford Motosport, GT40 (I think it is later model from +1980) It has 360 horsepower on it!
I have also AOD transmission from 1995 Thunderbird LX. I have fix it already and I think it is ok.
So, you all know better what kind of problems I have in future. The engine is still on the floor and etc.
I am start to built it in February!

Oh, I almost forget it. What kind of suspension do you use in this kind of cars?
Thank You all!

Check out the Maverick/Comet forums and get in touch with "71gold" there. He sells custom cross members to allow your AOD to bolt right in.

Re: Hi! I need litle help

Make sure you upgrade the fuel system to 3/8 fuel lines, update your breaks, you will need better breaks, 5 lug wheels, and a strong rear axle. At least 2 1/4 inch exhaust sytem.

Going without any of these, you will have problems, saving money and not doing these things will cost you more money in the end, when you figure out the hard way, you should have done it right the first time. Ask many of us how we know these things....(laughs)

Ok. That`s what I think. The exhaust is 2 and half with the Hookers. Transmission gonna be C4 (rebuilt and fixed).Fuel lines are 3/8 fuel lines with new electric pump.
The rear axle and the brakes are the problem. What do you think, what is the best way to do it.The original car was 302 cid.

Re: Hi! I need litle help

The 302 Mavericks came with a Ford 8" axle. It is strong enough for almost any streetable 302. If you are going to drag race the car with a lot of HP built into it then a Ford 9" is the way to go.
The 8" Ford rear axle is stronger than your AOD transmission.

Re: Hi! I need litle help

Thank You! ...but, I`m gonna use C4 transmission because my AOD was AODE so I cant use it if I dont use the computers etc. My C4, the original transmission, is rebuilt and we have done a lot work with this transmission. I´ll hope it´s gonna be OK?
I´m not going to race with that car.
What kind of universal shaft and U-joint?
I`m also thinking about the brakes?

If someone is interesting about my other cars my address is:
