A couple of pictures of my 71 Comet Gt.

Here are a couple of pictures of my 71 Comet Gt. This has been a work in progress for about 3 years. We just put on the side markers today and then were going to paint the hood scoop. The car will be ready for the Super Run car show this weekend in Las Vegas/Henderson. The car has a 289 engine but was built for racing. Disc breaks all around, all fiberglass fenders/hood, and the shock towers are already cut. I plan on putting in 351 stroker motor down the road but for now I just want to drive it and cruise. Btw, I just took these two pictures when I was leaving that's why the car appears far away. You can use the zoom on your computer for close ups. Thanks.

I can't believe you have not received any responses to this post. This is a great looking car!!! To bad you live all the way out there......We have a club, MCG (maverick comet group) maverickcometgroup.com and we are having our natoinals in Joplin, Mo. in July 2009. You can see pics of our last 2 Nats at that web site and read a little about us. Sorry fo rthe plug but you have a great looking car and we would love to see more of it.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I went to your site and recognized a couple of names from the mmb.maverick forums. The car is not quite done and never did make it to the show. I brought my other car to the show instead and there were over 1500 beautiful vehicles/classic cars and they gave out 150 "Outstanding Vehicle" awards and the falcon got one.

I was originally going to put in the comet a 408 stroker motor in her but I found the 64 falcon sprint and put the 408 in her and put the 289 from the falcon in the comet. I will do something with the comet later on because it's completely built for racing. I am however very pleased with both cars. Thanks again.

Very nice. Much nicer that the 71 six cylinder four door Maverick I had to drive 32 years ago! LOL
