Mystrey I need some input..351 C Valve problem

Ok, I need some help, this is a problem, no one can figure out. I have a 351C that I just barely re-built. I had it running fine, then when I was driving it, two pistons hit valves on the intake side, on both heads #2 and #7. turns on the hose clamp broke on the water bump intake, and no water was being cycled. While it had no water being cycled, I reved it up to 4 grand, but the valves got hit about 2 mins later. I had the heads checked out, they had warped and it turns out 3 other intake valves had barley touched but didn't bed. one of the Guides had spun, I had the valves buides, and two valves jobs. The heads where warped 7 thousands, had the re-surfaced. I got them back and check the clearences, I used a 1/4 of clay, valves didn't touch on the valves that got bent. Now I noticed, some of the stock rockers are marked with the ford circle stamp, a "W" and a "B". the over all lengths are different between them all.

"W" are longest
"B" is the middle
Ford circle stamp is shortest

Now I know the over all length doesn't ameka difference, it is the Pushrod and valve position that do and the bolt.
I need to find the reason these valves have hit, and and a couple other just barely touched before I put this engine back togather. I have talked to multipul people and they all give me different answers.
HELP! I need to get this engine done, and done right.

Anybody have any answer, if you need more info ask, please.

Stock Motor, Ferrea Valves. stock compression, bored 0.030 over.

Mystrey I need some input..351 C Valve problem

It sounds like weak valve springs. Did you replace the valve springs with new ones to match your cam?
Also if you have the head gasket on backwards, it will over heat very fast. The "front" stamped on the gaskets has to be toward the front. on one side the word will be up where you can read it (before head is on) and on the other the word will be underneath but still must be in front.
Cheers.

Mystrey I need some input..351 C Valve problem

I had the springs looked at, the machine shop said they are still ok springs for a stock engine. I really curious about the different markings on the rockers. I have the heads back on. I really just want to put it back togather, but I don't have 16 of the same rockers. I'm going to try and measure the ratio tomorrow. Any body else have any clues. ?

Do you really think it could be the springs? I guess if they lost there strength they wouldn't close fast enough, but if the engine really isn't going to be run past 5 grand, there shouldn't be a need for high performance springs.

if you ran it hot, it sounds like the guides stuck (heat) and held the valves open.
