Air Cleaner more fresh air ???

Hello

I have a 69 Mustang 302. The air cleaner is original. Have the Engine not more fresh air, when the air Cleaner snorkel is direct mounted with a hole in the inner front fender apron ? Instead original mounted air cleaner.

( Why have Ford not built so earlier ? like the Ford Mustang Gt year 85 )

Thanks
Condor4

Are you talking about a cold air intake??? I would just go with a K&N, and put the orig up for future use, if you ever decide to go back to the Classic look.

Yes, cold air intake. A 14" K&N Air cleaner is installed.
The idea is a snorkel or tube(s) conect to the original air cleaner and the inner fender apron or under the battery for fresh air. Give that more power 5hp , 10hp ?

Hmmm, not to say you can't, but the only cold air intake I remember seeing, is for throttle bodies, not carbs. I thought the K&N was supposed to give you more HP??? I don't want to discourage you, and I will do some digging on this, I really want to know this too.

I understand what your saying, but the factory air cleaner snorkel is too restrictive to do any good by routing it to a cold air source. You'd either have to weld another snorkel on like the one in the picture, or get a base with two snorkels built in.

I think 6t was referring to the fact that there is a big difference between just a cold air intake and ram air. While I have seen people argure back and forth about whether a cold air intake really does any good, ram air is a proven technique that WILL give additional power in much the same way that a VERY mild supercharger would.
