Wiper Blade Position?

Turned my wipers on the other day and when I turned them off they stayed in position. They used to come all the way back down and stow in a PARK position. What is usually wrong when they quit PARKING?

There's a set of contacts inside the motor that keeps the power on until the motors movement while parking breaks the contact. It may be you need to remove the motor remove the cover and clean it or the wire that feeds the contact may be broken also the circuit feeds back through the switch to complete the circuit so it could even be a bad switch contact. No year mentioned so I can't explain the wiring scheme precisely as they differ from year to year. Stu

Cap'n, cahorne has a 66 'stang. I agree with your synopsis. cahorne, have you tried switching the wipers off from both low and high speed...with the same result? I'd check the switch on the dash first as pulling the motor is going to be a pain in the butt. If you do end up spending some time under the dash, take the seat out...you'll be glad you did.

Thanks for the input. I was hoping someone would say it is the switch. I looked through a couple of vendor catalogues and could not find a replacement switch. (Year One, Dallas Mustang...) I am sure they are out there. Maybe a good cleaning will help. Oh, and with regard to the high/low scenario... it has the same result either way.
