need advise on power steering upgrade

I'm trying to add PS to my 66 Mustang coupe. I have located a 67 Fairlane system that have is pretty complete - pump, rack, pitan arm, gearbox, brackets, etc.

Can anyone tell me what mods I'll need to make to get it to work? Or is it not a wise move to try and swap a 67 Fairlane PS to the 66 Mustand coupe?

The '66 and '67 Fairlane is a larger chassis than the '66 Mustang. IIRC the center link will be too wide. You'd be better with the '65/'66 Mustang system. Stu

What you might want to do is bight the bullit and spend a little money to upgrade to a rack & pinion set up from Randals rack. It comes a alot cheaper than TCP and I think it is a better product. Check it out for yourself he has alot of pictures on his siteand a down to earth guy.

Yep. Also, the control valve on the 65 and 66 PS cars is built into the center link. On the 67 and later cars it screwed onto the end of the center link. You have to use the 65/66 center link...it's shorter than the 67 and later center link.

Thanks Robert,

I'm more familiar with '67 up Mustangs which are somewhat similar to the Fairlaine etc. I knew the '65/'66 cars were a bit more unique in the front end. Stu
