Auto to Manual?

Assuming one had the needed expertise, would it be feasible to switch out a stock C4 tranny in favor of a manual transmission? How difficult would this be?

Auto to Manual?

Lots of people have done exactly that. I swiched from a C4 to a t-5 (out of a 5.0 latemodel mustang) in my 67 mustang coupe. I got a clutch setup and bellhousing out of the 5.0 too (i actually bought all new stuff but it was intended for the 5.0). The hardest part was finding a pedal setup from an old mustang. There are conversion kits from mustangs plus mad national parts depot. There are also lots of sites online that can walk you though the swap. I did the swap when I was still in high school after class friday and saturday.

Auto to Manual?

I am in the process of swapping my 68 cougar from a C4 to a toploader. I was having a hard time finding pedals for the swap. I stumbled upon this site after I already bought mine. http://www.safepay.net/cgi-bin/shop/...oderndriveline

Yes, check archives here for conversion info, I converted my '67 Cougar from a C4 to a Tremec 3550 sourcing new parts I used a crossmember from Modern Driveline.

Also, Modern Driveline has packages for this purpose, I think you can buy the individual parts you can't find if you want to source the trans, clutch, b/h, etc.

Auto to Manual?

I just completed a toploader swap into my 69 over Christmas - I found a lot of the parts I need from allclassicmustang.com - I think almost all of the clutch linkage parts, aside from the pedals, cost about 250, which was much cheaper than other sources I checked.
