Well, aside from the obvious power booster (not trying to sarcastic there) I would think maybe the proportioning valve? I believe I was told it was different between disc and drum...but not sure about if it's different between non-power and powered drums. If I were doing it, I would probably go with one of the aftermarket adjustable proportioning valves (not really sure if it's necessary for drums though).
If by chance you want to go with front disc brakes, with power, let me know...somewhere in one of my sheds, I think I still have the power booster and brake spindles (and possibly the calipers too, but they would need rebuilding, or be good as a core for turn in) from a 69 Mercury Cougar, which would bolt right up...you just need the proportioning valve and brake lines (both hard and soft ones and a different brake pedal assembly too, which I might still have as well).
If you are interested, let me know and I can send pics (if I find them) and you can shoot an offer for them, plus shipping.

Not 100 percent sure but I believe the brake pedal may differ. IIRC the fulcrum point may be different, but I could be confused with the disc pedal. BTW drums don't have a prop valve they just have a shuttle valve for the dual system. It is the disc setup that has the prop valve integral to the shuttle. Stu

The pedal is different for power discs, the pin is in a very different place and its a different shape. 69 and 70 are different as well.

Oops...you are right, I was thinking ditribution block...and once I wrote proportioning valve, my mind stuck on that and ran with it! D'oh!!
That is why this site is so good...lot's of experience and plenty of checks and balances from all the members when one of us accidently gives wrong info!
And yes the brake pedals are physically different, I have read that many times in different publications, it is a different fulcrum point...need a bit more push with the old drum set up, powered or not

You'll need the booster/master cylinder, prop valve, disc are different, brake pedal, different ratio then manual drums, spindles, dust plate, calibers, new brake hoses, rotors, wheel bearings and seals. Best if you can find a 68-73 Stang, 68-73 Cougar, 68-71 Fairlane/Torino. Probably a few I forgot. The Granada/Monarch, Comet/Maverick will also work but the spindles, calibers, rotors are different. But they'll work. You might have to change a few brake lines.
