question about the Ram Air option for 1972

This might sound like an odd question, but I want to know if anyone has ever seen a 1972 Mustang with Ram Air on a 2V engine. I have read through many sources that in 1972, Ford tried to slip the Ram Air through for EPA testing by doing the certifications using the 2V engine... and they got busted on it so only the 2V clevelands could come from the factory with Ram Air, and 4V were equipped with Ram Air as a dealer option (I've heard variations on the story, but all accounts are similar with 2V being factory and 4V being dealer done), in fact, in the March issue of Mustang Enthusiast they talk of that in a story about a 72 convertible . So my question is this, has anyone ever seen a 2V engine from the factory equipped with Ram Air? I've only seen 4 barrels, never a 2V...so I was wondering...is this a real story with visual proof from a witness here on FM...or is it at best an automotive urban legend?

Haven't seen one personally but have seen magazie articles on it, including the 73s. 2V where the standard for it, but the 4V was dealer installed. But then it also depends on what state the car was delivered to.

That's what I am talking about...everyone says they have read about it...but never has anyone ever actually seen one! I was kind of hoping with the collective Ford fans here, that maybe someone at one time either has seen one or has owned one.

Jamie72,
Really? You actually had/have a 2V Ram Air Mustang? Well that is cool to hear...don't suppose you have pics of it do you? It's like I originally posted, I have read of it so often, but never have I actually seen one, or knew of anyone who has seen it either...too cool! Thanks!

Jamie,
Yep...I got em', and let me say this first...that is a sweet looking ride!! I hope you don't mind, but since you aren't a subscriber here, I thought I would post the pics so others could see this beauty!

I love that color combo! Did your car roll off the line like that, or is that a later change you made to the Mach?
A very sweet ride!! Also, how about a pic of the engine without the air cleaner lid on, I would love to see the carb as well.
Mike
